Free to read, funded by commissions
Every guide on vanlife4life.com is free. To pay for the time it takes to write and update them, the site uses affiliate links: when you buy something after clicking one of those links, the retailer pays us a commission on the sale.
What it means for you
The price stays the same. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, so you pay exactly what you would have paid going straight to the store. If you would rather not use our links, you can look the product up yourself and the article is just as useful.
To credit the sale to us, the retailer sets a cookie when you click. How long it lasts depends on each program, and if you clear your cookies before buying, the commission simply isn’t counted.
How we pick what we recommend
A product makes it into a guide because its specs fit the need we are covering, and how much it pays us plays no part in that. We work from the spec sheets and sources cited in each article, we point out a product’s limits as clearly as its strengths, and when the best fit has no partner link, we recommend it anyway.
No brand reviews our articles before they go live. If a piece is ever sponsored, it will say so at the very top.
Spotting affiliate links
Every article that contains affiliate links says so in a note at the bottom of the page.
